Paintings in the What the Sea Gave Me (My Shmita Year) series have a simple, meditative focus on color, shape, and emotional mood that reflect my Shmita (or sabbatical year) of coming out of covid isolation and depression through cold plunging and open water swimming in the Puget Sound.
